Position Summary:

The Finance Officer will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of Accelerate Prosperity Pakistan. The position will ensure adherence to financial policies, donor requirements, and regulatory standards. This role will involve budget management, financial reporting, grant management, and supporting the organization’s strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all AP projects and initiatives.
    • Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Accounting:
    • Oversee the daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and general ledger management.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions and maintain financial records in accordance with established procedures.
    • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, grants, and other key accounts.
  • Grant Management:
    • Support the financial management of donor-funded projects, including budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and financial reporting.
    • Track and report on grant expenditures to ensure compliance with donor agreements and approved budgets.
    • Collaborate with program teams to provide financial insights and support for grant proposals and reports.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, donor agreements, and internal financial policies.
    • Assist in preparing for internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responding to audit queries.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for donors, management, and the board of directors.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CA are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in a finance role, ideally within an NGO, non-profit, or donor-funded organization.
    • Experience with financial management systems and accounting software 
  • Skills:
    • Strong financial analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
    • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Knowledge of donor regulations, compliance standards, and local financial regulations.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
